Bedrooms

Home was built to have four bedrooms, two on the third floor, and two on the second. However, the home has been converted so that an open design exists on these two floors, allowing light to travel from the front to back of the home. The current arrangement is ideal for a couple and one or two children. By restoring the dividing wall on either floor, the original room arrangement could be restored.

Four Bedrooms (dimensions approximate):

Third Floor Front and Back: Pompeian style Venetian plaster walls, terracotta on bottom, and cream on top. Wedgwood blue as accent color. Brazilian cherry hardwood floors. Windows in turret are slumped (curved) glass with stained glass above each window as an accent. Closet located in front, and second closet located in back. Front room has fireplace lined in slate, and fully operational (relined in 2004). Crackled finishes on terracotta baseboard. Very bright with natural sunlight. Skylight in entrance hallway.

Second Floor Front and Back: 1890's Aesthetic Movement styling featuring three-part Victorian wallpaper, and extensive wood moldings. Picture rail and gilded molding trim. Highly ornamental period lighting, with hand-painted ceiling medallions. Eastlake style fireplace mantel hand-crafted from salvaged wood by Urban Revivals LLC, ebonized and gilded, featuring tiles in dark green and burgundy. Fireplace operational (relined in 2004). Windows in turret are slumped (curved) glass with stained glass above each window as an accent. Colorful multi-part ornamental baseboard and cornice constructions. Fireplace contains British Rumsford style historic firebox. Drapes and historic lace curtains convey. Balcony access; balcony featuring wrought-iron ornament. Balcony door features etched Victorian fleur-de-lis design in glass. Floor hand-laid by Urban Revivals and features herringbone pattern in white oak. Inlaid wood trim and banding in dark walnut, for period design.

Historic Features: Original stained glass Eastlake style fireplace, and architectural trimwork replicating 1885-1895 construction features. Curved glass windows. Quarter-sawn antique door for balcony access. Historic floor design inspired by embassies in the local area, made of white oak and dark walnut planking.
